History of the Bristol Online LETS project

A lot could be done on this one ... i.e. proper write up of Bristol LETS history!

However, in brief, the Southville Centre was the home of Southville LETS, which traded in squids, one of only two surviving groups out of the original eight in Bristol. The other group was Ashley LETS, which had members in BS6 and surrounds, including St Werburghs, Bishopston and Montpelier, whose currency was called thanks.

In 2010, members of both these groups agreed to come together, with the support of Bristol Interlets and LETSlink UK, to form the first ever "Bristol LETS" using an online system, enabling members to update their own profiles and Offers & Wants listings, and also carry out transactions. And the rest, as they say, is history!
